Founded in 2002, IT Governance, a GRC Solutions company —formerly known as IT Governance Ltd—is a leading global provider of IT governance, risk management, and compliance solutions. Our mission is to deliver integrated services that help organisations worldwide navigate the complexities of cyber security, data protection, and regulatory compliance.

Evolution and growth

Under the leadership of founder Alan Calder, IT Governance Ltd established itself as a pioneer in information security management. Alan Calder and Steve Watkins co-authored "IT Governance: An International Guide to Data Security and ISO 27001/ISO 27002," now a cornerstone in information security literature and the basis for the Open University's postgraduate course on the subject.

In 2024, we partnered with Bloom Equity Partners, transitioning to a privately held company to accelerate our growth and innovation. This strategic move has enabled us to expand our services and reinforce our commitment to providing comprehensive GRC solutions.

Leadership transition

In October 2024, Ken Berryman, with over 25 years in the tech industry, was appointed as interim CEO, succeeding Alan Calder, who continues to serve as an advisor to the Group. Ken's focus is on driving innovation and delivering a wide range of GRC solutions to both existing and new clients.
