The IBITGQ DPO Professionalism Pathway recognises the dedication and commitment necessary for appointed DPOs in an increasingly complex and digital-first environment. Upon passing the DPO exam set by IBITGQ, candidates receive provisional status, which can be upgraded to fully certified status by evidencing three years’ privacy work experience and an accrued 50 CPD (continuing professional development) points.
C-DPO certificates are valid for three years and can be renewed by providing evidence of a further two years’ privacy experience and 50 CPD points earned since achieving the previous certification.
Dedicated data protection and privacy professionals can advance to two further levels of certification: DPO Expert status and DPO Master status. Learn more
Candidates who have passed the C-DPO ISO 17024-certificated exam within the past 3 years and have approved 3 years’ privacy work experience along with 50 CPD learning hours will receive the Certified Data Protection Officer (C-DPO) Certificate by IBITGQ.
This certificate is accredited by IBITGQ (International Board for IT Governance Qualifications).
IBITGQ is a personnel certification body that certifies individuals in the field of IT governance.
IBITGQ is accredited to the ISO/IEC 17024:2012 standard (Conformity assessment – General requirements for bodies operating certification of persons) by IAS (International Accreditation Service). ISO 17024 is a global, industry-recognised benchmark, and qualifications accredited to this standard are recognised and highly valued by employers throughout the world.
You can demonstrate your professional and practical knowledge and expertise by registering your qualification on the IBITGQ/GASQ successful candidate register.
Certificates for those who have been verified will be issued within ten working days from the date of the verification.
Results notifications and certificates are sent directly to candidates by the relevant awarding body in electronic format; please note that hard-copy certificates are not issued.
You will receive a confirmation email within 48 business hours of completing your order outlining the next steps in the application process. Please check your junk folder and contact us if you have not received your confirmation email.
Send your completed application forms to IT Governance Ltd via email to itgtrainingmb@itgovernance.co.uk.
The email must include ALL the required evidence, including a copy of the C-DPO certificate, copies of CPD achievements and attendance, and evidence of work including contact details for referee(s). Without this information, the application will be rejected.
When renewing, or advancing to the next tier, you must pass the exam and submit your application including the necessary evidence.
Upon IBITGQ verification, the necessary certification will be issued.
