The Certified GDPR Practitioner Training Course discusses how each aspect of the Regulation can be translated into implementation actions for your organisation. Having been offered the role of privacy manager for a small group of companies, including a franchisor, I asked for training to support me in the role. I found the training to be engaging but challenging as my depth of knowledge and understanding grew. I opted to do face-to-face training and spaced out over 9-10 months from foundation to C-DPO which suited me. I was very pleased to pass each part and to gain greater confidence in my knowledge and understanding of the subject matter. This worked really well for me and I would recommend it to anyone who takes on / has the role of privacy manager, even if not taking on the full DPO role for now.

I chose to sign up for the Foundation, Practitioner and C-DPO course, as I was coming at GDPR with very little experience or training. The format of these courses meant I got a great base level of knowledge that built with more detail as they went on leading to me passing the C-DPO exam by the end of the training. The trainer went through the theory and applied practical examples at all stages, which I found key to getting to grips with what can be quite a complicated and complex subject. Having completed the Foundation course online, I felt that for the longer courses the classroom experience would be useful and IT Governance made this a really simple, safe and enjoyable experience. I would certainly recommend the combined course for anyone that would like to gain a greater understanding of GDPR and looking to take on the role of DPO.
